Government Tax Credits Heating & Cooling Systems
Upgrade to one or more energy-efficient home comfort savings, and you could qualify for some big-time government tax credits.
If you’ve been thinking about replacing your home heating or central air conditioning system, your timing couldn’t be better. And for a few reasons.
First, the U.S. government is offering generous tax credits when you purchase an Energy Star certified home heating or cooling system. The following credits are available through 2010:
Earn a tax credit of 30% (up to $1,500) on the purchase of a qualifying home comfort system. The credit includes labor.
Some systems, including heat pumps, are not subject to the $1,500 maximum…which means your tax credits can be even greater.

Tax Credits for Tankless Water Heaters, Too!
A lot of our customers either haven’t heard about tankless water heaters…or have heard very little.
But once they find out…well, let’s just say that we’ve been installing one or more per week simply because of how valuable this product is…and how much it can help reduce your energy bill.
Here’s why:
Unlike storage tank models, tankless water heaters heat water only as it is used.
A tankless unit has a heating device activated by the flow of water when a hot water valve is opened. Once activated, the heater delivers a constant supply of hot water.
You can purchase “whole-house” models or “booster” units to increase the amount of hot water available in your bathroom or other areas of your home.
By switching to a tankless unit, you’ll realize cost savings by not having to heat water continuously. Plus, the average tankless system has a “shelf life” of greater than 20 years, vs. 10-15 years for a storage tank system. And that results in even greater long-term savings.
Add to that a government tax credit for any Energy Star certified tankless water heater of 30% (up to $1,500), and that’s just about as “win/win” as it gets.
